ORGANIZATION
Organization is one of those 'things' that is a key to success in middle school.
Help your student get organized by:
1)Encourage your student to use the planner daily
You can check over the planner with your student in the evening. Mrs. Metiski and I are doing random planner checks throughout the week.
2) Encourage your student to use an expandable folder.
Make sure there is a tab for each subject. Homework assignments should be placed in the correct section. Discourage placing papers in text books.
3) Remind your student to listen when a teacher is talking.
By nature most sixth graders are very sociable, please remind your student to listen when the teacher is talking. Talking over the teacher can be a big problem.
MORNING BREAK...Middle schoolers take a midmorning break on days when we do NOT have Mass. This is, usually, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This break time should be used to eat a snack, use the restroom, fill-in planner, study, catch up on assignments, stretch legs, etc.... Please make sure your child has food for a midmorning snack and lunch. Some children are eating their lunch at break time and going to lunch without any food.

A couple of important reminders:
Mrs. Bodine's school email address bodinesas@aol.com
English and Science textbooks have been copied on CDs for the children.
- If you would like a conference, please call the front office. Ms. Rosie will schedule the conference with the middle school teams, Mrs. Powers, Mrs. Barthle, and myself.

Homework is assigned daily Monday through Thursday. If your child is coming home with a lot of homework, please remind them to use their 'extra' time in class to work on homework assignments. We, also, have lunch study hall available Monday through Thursday for children wishing to work on homework assignments.
