In the news...
     In math, students will continue to learn about  multiplication.

   During Writer's workshop, students have been writing paragraphs, and they are really fun to read! During the months of January and February, we will also be reading and writing poetry.  We will be practicing reading and responding to short passages in prep. for MCAS testing.

    In science and social studies, the students are learning about the solar system, and the history of the Native Americans, and Pilgrim settlers in the state of Massachusetts.  This social studies theme will be carried over to reading groups, when students will books such as Samuel Eaton's Day, and Squanto and the First Thanksgiving.

Reading-       Read a book or a magazine for 15 min 
 
 
Spelling-   Write your words on to your syllables page.   Practice writing all your spelling words correctly by "hiding" them in a picture.   Be sure to use color! You may want to make a Valentine's scene.
